TechTrends – The New iPad2

I am a person that appreciates technology.  I am not, however, one of those people that camp out overnight just to be one of the first to have the latest gadget.  But if there’s anything that might make me rush to retail on opening day, it would be the new iPad2.

My love of all things Apple was solidified when I got my iPhone4, and the new iPad is just the icing on the proverbial wedding cake.  It’s release today was met with much anticipation and fantastic reviews overall.

I won’t bore you with too many technical details (you can check out specs here), I’ll only say that it’s thinner, lighter, faster, has two cameras, and is just all-around more awesome than the first one.  For anyone that might wonder why they would ever need such a device, if you have a smartphone, e-reader, and/or a laptop, you need such a device.  The iPad2 is practically all of those things in one!  And even if you’re not that technically inclined, if you use a computer at all, you’ll be amazed at how much more productive you can be.   With an advanced touchscreen, wireless printing, over 65,000 apps, and sooooo much more, I can’t think of anything else I’d like to get for Christmas this year.

The iPad2 starts at $499, and even though it still only comes in basic black or silver, the iPad Smart Cover – which is highly recommended – comes in a rainbow of colors to suit your style.

  1. FYI the new Ipad 2 will come in two colors which are black and white. My husband got the motroloa zoom when it first came out and I have to say we were pleasently surprised by it speed and abilities. Having and Android phone myself, I would have thought I would want a zoom myself. But after a visit to the apple store and checking out the I pad 1 I was completely sold. The only reason why I didn’t pick one up then is because I knew I wanted the dual cameras that this latest version would surly have. Needless to say I am so excited I can hardly wait. Hey maybe you and I can face time sometime:-)!
