href="http://www.idtheftcenter.org/index.html">identity theft last year, and a large majority of those crimes took place online.

We all know the importance of having strong online passwords (no birthdays please!) and changing those passwords often. But what if there was a way to have a virtually unhackable online account? Imagine that your bank account, Facebook page, Paypal, and any of your online accounts could be free from the threat of someone getting their hands on your personal information? Well that day will be here a lot sooner than you think!

The Hoyos Group has introduced EyeLock, billed as the first and only portable iris-scanning device for consumers. It’s about the size of a business card, and seems to be extremely easy to use. It connects to your computer through a USB port, you load the software and pick the accounts you want to lock. A small hand-held wand scans your eye and presto! No need for passwords anymore! Everytime you log into one of your online accounts, the software creates a unique numerical key that is different for each login, so there is no risk of hacking. And while fingerprints have about 18 different points that make them unique, your iris has about 2,000, making it nearly impossible for someone else to copy your eye. It even works through your glasses! The EyeLock is coming soon and will retail for $99, a small price to pay for the comfort of security in a world where a large portion of our personal information can be found online. You can find more information about EyeLock <a
